After four years of working together to develop and build the AI software start-up Spleenlab, one of the three founders is going in a new direction. Sebastian Süß, co-founder and former Head of Marketing & Communication, is leaving Spleenlab in his role as Managing Director and will remain with the company in an advisory role until the start of his new role. He is moving as a consultant for sustainability management to his non-profit association goals connect e.V., which he founded with partners in 2009, in order to professionalise the previously voluntary work and to take account of the association’s growth in the field of sustainable development and education.
Spleenlab GmbH, based in central Germany, continues to be on a successful growth path and is preparing for the next round of investment. In future, the company will be managed by the two co-founders and previous managing directors Dr. Stefan Milz and Tobias Rüdiger in personal union. „We are looking forward to continuing the successful path of Spleenlab together with our customers and partners and to enable the future of mobility with our software solutions,“ says Dr. Stefan Milz, Head of Research & Development „We would like to thank Sebastian Süß for the work we did together in building one of the most successful AI mobility start-ups in Germany and beyond. We wish him all the best for the future in his new role,“ adds Tobias Rüdiger, Head of Finance & Operations.
Despite the new challenge, the goals of 37-year-old Sebastian Süß remain the same: he wants to advance the future of mobility and sustainable, climate-friendly social development: „With regard to climate change, we are in one of the greatest transformation processes in history. In order to enable future generations to live together safely, our everyday life will have to change fundamentally. I would like to drive this change in social and entrepreneurial thinking and action, in the way we live and move, even more strongly from a new position with my association goals connect e.V.“ says Sebastian Süß about his new role.

Spleenlab is a highly specialised AI software company founded in 2018 with the aim of developing safe AI solutions for real-time automation of drones, air-taxis and self-driving cars. Nach vier gemeinsamen Jahren in der Entwicklung und dem Aufbau des KI-Software Start-ups Spleenlab geht einer der drei Gründer neue Wege. Sebastian Süß, Mitgründer und bisheriger Head of Marketing & Communication, verlässt Spleenlab in seiner Funktion als Geschäftsführer und bleibt dem Unternehmen bis zum Start seiner neuen Rolle in beratender Funktion erhalten. Er wechselt als Consultant für Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement zu seinem 2009 mit Partnern gegründeten Verein goals connect e.V., um die bisher ehrenamtliche Arbeit zu professionalisieren und dem Wachstum des Vereins im Bereich nachhaltige Entwicklung und Bildung Rechnung zu tragen.
Die Spleenlab GmbH mit ihrem Sitz in Mitteldeutschland befindet sich weiterhin auf einem erfolgreichen Wachstumskurs und in Vorbereitung auf die nächste Investitionsrunde. Trotz der neuen Herausforderung bleiben die Ziele des 37-Jährigen Sebastian Süß die gleichen: Er will die Zukunft der Mobilität und eine nachhaltige, klimagerechte, gesellschaftliche Entwicklung vorantreiben: „Wir befinden uns mit Blick auf den Klimawandel in einem der größten Transformationsprozesse der Geschichte. Um auch zukünftigen Generationen ein sicheres Zusammenleben zu ermöglichen, wird sich unser Alltag grundlegend verändern müssen.
